Sustainable Direction MD John Henry Looney will be speaking at the UKELA annual conference Gala Dinner, in Nottingham.

This year, UKELA’s conference will be around the theme Cities of the Future – Legal Challenges & Opportunities For More Sustainable Living.  More than half the world’s population lives in towns and cities, and so creating sustainable urban environments is a key and pressing challenge for politicians, planners, engineers, architects and lawyers.  The conference’s plenary sessions will discuss the role of lawyers and regulators in making cities more sustainable, and share UK-relevant best practice.

The Gala Dinner is the programme’s social highlight, and will be held at the impressive venue of Nottingham Castle, with panoramic views of the city and delicious local food.  John Henry will be giving his thoughts on the discussions of the day, and sharing some of his own experiences from a varied career in environmental engineering, management and assessment as well as being an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham and Visiting Fellow at the University of Bristol.

You can find out more about the event on UKELA’s website. The deadline for registration is 3rd July.
